GI Friday Takeover with David Mann

  • Can you tell us about Elysium Studios and what it offers?

Elysium Studios is an innovative casino software developer that was founded in Bulgaria, but now also boasts offices in Sweden, Malta and Isle of Man. Fans of online slots may already be familiar with the brand as part of the team were responsible for the design of the first Red Tiger releases before deciding to go on and form their own studio. In terms of what they offer, players can expect to see a range of unique games that combine top-notch graphics, animations and sounds with features and mechanics that are inspired by the latest social, video and casino gaming trends.

  • Which markets do you plan on deploying games from Elysium Studios?

Regulated markets are at the heart of our Swintt’s business plan and focus, so through the acquisition of Elysium Studios, we’ll look to continue broadening our offering in those. Though we’ll ultimately be targeting all regions that we currently hold licensing in, Elysium Studios will initially be pushed in SGA/MGA markets like Sweden and Malta, Germany, the Netherlands, Serbia, Lativa and Lithuania as this is where we envision their games having the most appeal. Later this year, we’ll also look to bring their content to market in the UK, Ontario and Greece, so we’ll definitely ensure that games are certified there too.

  • How will the acquisition of Elysium Studios improve Swintt’s game offerings?

The main goal behind the acquisition of Elysium Studios was to identify any potential gaps in our offering so that we can provide content that appeals to as broad an audience as possible. We already have Premium games that cater for more “traditional” casino players and Select releases targeted at fans of advanced bonus features – and Elysium Studios will likely lean a bit more towards the latter. The developer is especially strong when it comes to game design and encouraging user interaction, so we think their games will be particularly popular with the younger generation in Nordic countries like Sweden.

  • What releases can we expect to see come from the Elysium Studios acquisition?

We’re about to celebrate the first game from the Elysium Studios – Driven by Swintt collaboration, which is an Irish mythology-themed slot called Tipsy Charms set to launch on April 25th. Featuring great graphics and a host of random in-reel bonuses, we’re really excited to see how it performs. Beyond that, we’re looking forward to our next release, Law of Gilgamesh, which comes out on May 30th and boasts max wins of 8,762x the bet. As a cluster pays slot with tumbling reels and tons of innovative features, the game has huge payout potential and will certainly appeal to the younger audience we’re targeting.

  • Do you have a particular audience you will cater Elysium Studios’ games to?

Elysium Studios is a dynamic brand that incorporates state-of-the-art design elements and gameplay mechanics into all its releases. The studio’s strong understanding of social and video gaming tends means its slots are naturally pitched towards a younger audience who have grown up playing this type of title, so we’re hoping they’ll be well received in markets like Sweden where this is the prevailing online demographic. This was previously an aspect of our existing game line-up that we thought we had the potential to develop further, so we’re grateful to have this extra expertise from Elysium Studios going forward.

  • Do you believe content from Elysium Studios will become the epicentre of the Swintt brand?

While we certainly want to place a lot of focus on our Elysium Studios – Driven by Swintt range, the developer’s popularity shouldn’t detract from the fact that we already had two successful offerings in our SwinttPremium and SwinttSelect catalogues. The acquisition was definitely made from a strategic point of view that sought to plug any potential gaps in our line-up; and with the three distinct game categories working in tandem, we believe we can further diversify our offering and provide slots that appeal to an even wider range of players. That being said, we’re really excited to now have Elysium Studios on board and think we’ll be able to do great things with them in future.
